In February of 2021, I received a notification from one of my favorite apps saying that they'd give me 60 bucks for every person I referred. I immediately shared the app with my family and convinced my mom to sign up! However, I never received the 60 bucks- it turned out my mom forgot to use my referral link when she signed up. Not too long after this, I witnessed one of my favorite Youtube creators sharing their link with their 100K+ followers and I thought, "are they also losing from people forgetting?"
I pulled on this thread and after 100s of interviews with creators, people that buy from creators and brands that partner with creators I realised the scary reality that creators have been losing millions from this problem.
People forget to use their creators codes and in many cases, through the industry standard use of last click attribution, the credit and commission is stolen by parties that played no role in causing the sale.
This seemed very unfair and inefficient to me. So I started working on a solution. I eventually quit my job to invest my time and resources into building it.
